Legal Food Frenzy

Legal Food Frenzy

The Young Lawyers Division of The Virginia Bar Association and the Federation of Virginia Food Banks invite you to participate in the 2021 Legal Food Frenzy!

To date, the Legal Food Frenzy has raised the equivalent of more than 18.5 million pounds of food. Help us raise even more by registering your firm, legal department, law school, or individual practice today! All winners will be invited to a special virtual award ceremony hosted by the Attorney General’s Office in Richmond.

In addition to the friendly competition across the legal community most offices enjoy having fun as a team and, of course, knowing they are working together to feed the hungry in their local community.

Rule Changes for 2021!

This year’s Legal Food Frenzy has a few rules changes to provide more opportunities to win and so all firms can compete on even footing despite differing COVID protocols between offices!

As much as we welcome food donations and volunteer time from participants, only monetary gifts will count towards statewide or regional awards given by Feeding Southwest Virginia. This is due to the complications in measuring then collecting food and time contributions between food banks as well as the differing COVID protocols among participants.

Private firm locations with 99 or fewer employees will compete for a regional award in Southwest Virginia, based on your office location. Feeding Southwest Virginia will calculate this regional award solely on a per capita basis.

Private firm locations with 100 employees or more (large firm) will compete on a statewide level, with two chances to win! There will be one statewide award for large firm per capita giving and one statewide award for total giving.

In addition to private, large firm awards, there will be two statewide winners, respectively, for the ‘Corporate Legal Department,’ ‘Law School,’ and ‘Government & Public Service’ categories (one award for per capita giving and one award for total giving).

Finally, there will be ONE OVERALL STATEWIDE WINNER for the most money raised per capita of any participating entity with at least five office employees.

Firms with multiple locations in different regions must register each participating office separately. Points from multiple firm offices will not be tallied together for the purposes of statewide recognition.
